What happens in a drop-in class?
During this 1-hour session, there will be 2-3 short, guided mindfulness practices while sitting, lying down or in slow, gentle mindful movement. All activities can be done in a chair if you prefer. There is an emphasis on using the breath and body to calm and settle us. You’ll be encouraged to notice your experience from one moment to the next in an open, patient and non-judgemental way with a sense of self-nurture and self-care.
Who is the course suitable for?
The course is suitable for adults with all levels of physical fitness and all ages. You’ll be noticing thoughts, feelings and physical sensations, so if you’re experiencing acute depression, serious physical or emotional trauma or stressful life events and feel that this may be difficult for you, it is better to wait before joining the sessions.
