Mat Pilates Classes

Who are the classes suitable for?

These classes are for people who are comfortable with exercises undertaken when standing, kneeling, sitting on the floor, working in squat and lunge position, working on all fours and lying on the floor on your back, front and sides. There will be exercises to develop core stability, balance and coordination, muscle tone and bone strength as well as mobilising joints, stretching and lengthening muscles, with relaxation at the end of the class.

Chair-Based Pilates Classes

Who are the classes suitable for?

These classes are recommended for people with reduced mobility and people who are not comfortable lying on their back, front or side on the floor, or kneeling, sitting on the floor, exercising in squat and lunge position or exercising on all fours. The exercises are designed to be done when sitting on a chair and when standing with a chair as a support placed in front of you or at your side. There is no floor work on a mat. Exercises aim to develop core stability, muscle tone, bone strength, balance and coordination, as well as mobilising joints and stretching and lengthening muscles. There is time for relaxation at the end of the class.
